The Farm

Tiana Wells is a distinguished horseman known for her expertise in the field of equine care and training. Formerly located at LisRobin Farm, Tiana now continues her career at The Farm. She started her life in Virginia, where fox hunting in the winter and showing in the summer were the norms. She learned to ride under Fontaine Watson at Logan Farm, worked for Mark and Kent Junghern at Coach House Stables in Rye, New York and ran her own training and breeding farm with her husband in Virginia. Her experience with the care and training of thoroughbreds in the racing world opened doors to the highest levels of horsemanship. She worked for not one but three Hall of Fame trainers. Horses in need of rehabilitation and/or retraining after a racing or show career are regulars at The Farm, because Tiana provides a level of intuitive and knowledgeable care that few others can reach.  

At The Farm, Tiana Wells role involves not only the meticulous care of the horses, but also providing confidence-building training for riders and horses of all ages and levels. Her training philosophy centers around respect, responsibility, and self discipline, in an inclusive and safe environment.  The intentionally cultivated low stress barn culture allows even the most timid riders to flourish. A number of Tiana Wells human students have become professionals in equine fields: one of her former students is now a certified farrier, another is in veterinary school, one has opened her own training barn, and another is working for one of the top professionals in the hunter-jumper world.
